Woollen Reef

IMG_7364smallWe had a great turnout of crocheters around the work table yesterday at The Yarn Room all making Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef. There was great imagination and re-kindling of skill too. Unfortunately, I only got around to taking pictures after dark, but the picture shows the baby steps of The Great Irish Hyperbolic Crochet Reef. We will have another day in January where I hope more will present great big, beautifully embellished pieces.

IMG_7347smallToday I am preparing for the three workshops happening at The Science Gallery tomorrow where I hope we can turn some of these beautiful towers of Irish yarn from Cushendale Wollen Mills into pretty pieces of coral reef. As they tower on the worktable I feel their beauty is all ready to be unleashed. I just need to print out some patterns and a few other bits on the project and then we should be ready to go. The rest of my day will be all hook!
