The Holy Grail Of Hyperbolic Crochet

We had a great day yesterday at The Science Gallery, crochet was taught and it’s simply magical to see new Reefers submerging themselves in the wolly wonder. Corals were made and another bit of Irish People’s Reef moved into the window at the café in the Science Gallery. It looks great!

Most importantly, I secured myself a copy of The Holy Grail of Hyperbolic Crochet. The Science Gallery stock Dr. Daina Taimina’s book ‘Crocheting Adventures with Hyperbolic Planes’ and I now posses this wonderful book. I’ll make sure to bring it to her lecture on Wednesday June 2nd at the Science Gallery and have it signed by The Master herself.

  1. I just love the shape that’s on the front of the book (whatever it is called…). 🙂

  2. Irene says:

The shape on the front of the book is a symmetric hyperbolic plane in four shades of purple. The question in the book is, ‘Which has the largest area?’

Nic, I am proud to be one of very many Reefers. It is the most wonderful fulfilling project to be part of!
