Inspired By The Sea

I grew up on a little island in Denmark, called Fur. I love that little island, it is my favourite place in all the world. It is where my roots are from, it is where I was shaped into the woman I am today.

I now live in the mountains, or foot hills or whatever you want to call this green lump of rock that my house is clinging on to. I sometimes miss the sea. I miss the light and the colours, the reflections and the shine.

At the weekend I had my fill with much stone skipping and salt water spray on the Irish Sea. The trip included enjoying an ice-cream on Arklow harbour…

The colours of the sea are deeply inspiring. Including the man-made ones. I feel re-vitalized and inspired. What inspires you?

I used to live very near the harbour in Arklow. Being from an island too, I know exactly what you mean about sometimes missing the sea. Fortunately not anymore!

I så fald, hvor mange smut?

Mairin, I sometimes feel that the mountains are soaking up all the light. Fortunately, I only live half an hours drive from the coast, so I can get my fill when need be.

It tickles me that you come from a place called ‘Fur. Warm, strong and protective. And besides. It sounds fibre-related.

Nic, it’s a great little place and very interesting from a geological point of view too. AND there are no less than TWO yarn shops on that little island!!!

  7. Funnily enough exactly the same as what inspires you. 🙂
