One of the great joys of my life is when I get a chance to prepare something new for my crochet classes. Sometimes it’s just a description of a technique that needs to be smartened up a bit or it can just be new inspiration both for my pupils and for myself.
At the moment I am preparing some free-form workshops for the autumn and while I’m doing that, my current weekly classes are being introduced to this wonderful funky fun style of crochet. A style where only one’s imagination is the limit.
Colourful Free-form crochet © Irene Lundgaard 2012
As always I am trying hard to bring texture into the equation, texture is one of the most exciting elements of free-form, and as always, as you can see, it’s the colour that’s winning here and I have come to conclusion that I have to allow my mind be ruled by my heart on this – at least on the current piece I am working – and just go with the colours – textures do not come easily to me! I wonder if they ever will…
If I have a notion what this piece might turn into? I might, but we’ll see if my heart is in agreement…

det er en helt usĂŠdvanlig art.
Den er ved at tage en helt ny drejning og ender nok med slet ikke at blive en ugle …
