Crochet Hat Project

We are starting our second week in Tinahely tonight and I have been busy on the hook to make a few items for inspiration. We will work in the round tonight and get going on some flowers too. Flowers are fun.  I find my Cool Spring Beanie a good little project to show how crochet does not have to be boring but I found that I only had a version in my bag of tricks in the colour grey and that was actually quite boring so I set to work on a green one and as it happened it almost ended up as an Irish tricolour beanie what with the flower colours being Green, White and Gold-ish.

IMG_6575smallWe are doing the Cool Spring Beanie as a project at The Yarn Room on Friday morning, and I thought it would be fun with an alternative to the flower that is included in the pattern. I love the green colour although it doesn’t do much for my complexion, but I do think it suits the Irish complexion very very well. The little shamrock picots at the peak of each petal are quaint and play into the whole Tricolour theme.

Anyway, I better get back to working up some small balls of yarn for the flower feast I am building up for tonight!
