After a day of relaxation and good food it’s time to get the creative juices flowing yet again and now that all the Christmas presents are done it’s time for thinking outside the wool stash box with some postcard art.
Over the years, the Tinahely Women’s Network (TWN) have celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th with gusto. Most years the celebration has been a gathering of women on the day and there has often been an art project of sorts involved too. 2011 is the 100th anniversary year and it’s no exception as the TWN Arts Committee have initiated a Postcard Art Project for women.
The TWN Arts Committee is inviting entries to the project, which has the theme of International Women’s Day – 100 Years of History and women from all over the world are encouraged to take part. Your postcard entry can be made in any medium you like and it must be sent through the mail as an open postcard. Your entry cannot exceed 21 x 15 cm and the deadline is February 14th. You can read the details of where to send your entry to as well as the terms and conditions right here.
I will participate and hope you will too!
