I hope you are having as much fun in the summer sun as I am, although crochet in pure cotton in Double Knitting yarn is not my favourite medium. I miss the spring in pure wool. Having said that, I adore working in very fine crochet cotton. The contradiction… Do you like crocheting in heavy cotton?

The Birthday Aftermath

There was cakes to die for at The Yarn Room yesterday, was being the operative word. When I left after a stint of some 3 hours this is what was left on the plates.

IMG_3022smallYummy Home Baking – Yarn Room Style

The place was packed with lovely yarnies and very many lovely faces were put on ‘Ravatars’. There was that Yarn Room buzz about the place that is so colourful and inclusive and not least inspiring with people bouncing ideas off each others. It is for a reason that the tag line on The Yarn Room logo is ‘- be inspired’.

This is one year later and I still pinch myself every time I go in the door there. I simply can’t believe I teach and work in this colourful and inclusive environment.

March Crochet Class Schedule

IMG_0152smallMarch is nigh and my new class schedule is now available. March will be all Tunisian crochet classes. I’m besotted with that technique and look forward to sharing it with others.
I found the softest combination of wool in Artesano Alpaca and Schoppel Wolle Pur and  made a pair of fingerless mittens in a spring yellow – just for fun. They are so soft and nice and soft and, well, springy…
