Quick Fix Lazy Lace

IMG_7486smallI have come under pressure for Christmas presents for many reasons this year. Normally I have it all under control, but not so this year!

A good while back I needed to make some easy lace for teaching purposes and my idea combining the brilliant quality of the Cushendale Bouclé Mohair with a size 15 mm hook makes some very quick and very easy crochet scarves. The combination turned into a luxurious long fluffy neck scarf and I am glad to share the pattern.

Irene’s Lazy Lace Scarf:

Materials: 100 g Cushendale Bouclé Mohair in the colour of your choice. 15 mm crochet hook.

: ch 27 + 3 (30 in total); dc 1 into 6th st from hook. *Ch 3, dc 1 into 3rd st from hook*. Continue *-* to end of row. Row 2: Turn, *ch 3 and work 1 dc into ch sp*; repeat *-* to end of row. Repeat row 2 until you run out of yarn. Weave in ends neatly. Wash and dry flat (do not block to keep yummy bounce).

IMG_7490smallI really enjoyed seeing how far I could push the yarn and utilize the material to it’s full potential. I love mohair and I particularly love the Cushendale variety as it is very easy to work with and does not tangle much. The Lazy Lace effect is honey comb like which makes the scarf rich and magically fluffy and warm. As you can see, I’m on a mission making a quick pile of fluffy prettiness for ladies necks.

Give it a go yourself, if you are stuck for a quick present!
