March Crochet Class Schedule

IMG_0152smallMarch is nigh and my new class schedule is now available. March will be all Tunisian crochet classes. I’m besotted with that technique and look forward to sharing it with others.
I found the softest combination of wool in Artesano Alpaca and Schoppel Wolle Pur and  made a pair of fingerless mittens in a spring yellow – just for fun. They are so soft and nice and soft and, well, springy…

Yarn Classes

Another Month Of Classes

Another 3 week run of Beginners Crochet Classes will commence in the Restaurant at Rathwood this coming Wednesday January 20th from 10 am to 12 noon. Booking taken here!

Crochet Classes are also available at The Yarn Room in Ashford, Wicklow on a variety of dates and times. There are classes for beginners and intermediates, parents and children, Tunisian crochet, Amigurumi and much much more. You can check out the variety here!

Having A Yarn Party Of A Week

This week is all about yarn with classes here, there and yonder and getting more and more people hooked on crochet. Tomorrow is even more yarn at The Yarn Room and then there will be classes again on Saturday both for beginners and intermediates and to complete the week we finish off with a yarn party at The Yarn Room, Ashford Village on Saturday 17th from 5 pm. I believe the first Irish Speed Knitting competition is going to be held on the night too. Perhaps I should abandon the hook for the night, grab the needles and make a bid with my Continental Style?
Hmmmm, we’ll see about that. Will I see you there?

Crochet Yarn Classes

Blooming Crocheters

Last night we commenced another class of beginners crochet in Tinahely. It was a great bunch and their work was very neat too. Quite impressive for first timers and next week they will be blooming in every sense fo that word.

On Saturday I was down at Rathwood promoting the classes that are commencing there tomorrow morning and while I was there I started this flower. Today I finally got around to sewing away the ends. It’s a real autumnal flower and so is the weather today. I am just waiting for it to get dark enough to light the candles and grab the hook. I have plenty of unfinished crochet business to keep me happy for the rest of the day…

Yarn Classes

Evening & Morning Crochet Classes

Next week another 3 weeks of beginners crochet classes will commence. The evening class in Tinahely will commence Monday October 12th at 8-10pm and the morning class in Rathwood will commence on Wednesday October 14th at 10 am-12 noon. The classes are geared towards beginners and people who are rekindling their skill. You can book your class on the Class Booking tab, where you scroll down to find the class that suits you, click right here or if you have any questions, drop me a mail (mail address in sidebar).

miniheartlogoIn Rathwood we encourage Yarnies to join
‘The Yarn Café’ every Wednesday morning (10-12). The group will meet in the restaurant while the classes are running parallel.

In November I will run a Present Making class in both Tinahely and Rathwood, which should be fun too! This class will be geared towards intermediates and beginners.

Yarn Classes

Beginner Crocheters

I had the joy of teaching another crochet class today at The Yarn Room in Ashford. I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing the smile on peoples faces when they ‘get it’ after a couple of hours. I am teaching a Tunisian crochet class tomorrow and I am very exited about that. I am falling in love with that technique in a serious way and look forward to sharing that love.

My three week evening and morning classes have proven popular and I look forward to starting a new lot on October 12th and 14th. If you are interested in participating you can book your place by clinking here or drop me a mail (see sidebar for address) if you would like more information.

One thing is for sure, I will do my very best to get you hooked too!
I promise!

Tunisian Heads Down

Another successful gathering at the work table in The Yarn Room today. They had their heads down in the bright and airy room while cracking the Tunisian code.

They worked hard, coffee, tea and cakes were had and they cracked the code completely! YAY!

On Friday it’s all about Classical Crochet. I better get the hook out…

In Bloom

IMG_6294smallThese are some samples for the crochet flower class on Saturday. I made a couple of traditional and simple ones and then the one brash and bold one which is actually also very simply made.

The brash and bold one is made to explore the effect of combining different classes of yarn. It is quite nice to see how well the heavy aran weight combined with 4ply can become ever so light on it’s woolly feet!

All I need to do now is the documentation of the process…
